JOB DESCRIPTION

An industrial painter applies protective and decorative coatings to metal, concrete, wood, and other surfaces in industrial environments. The goal is to protect against corrosion, chemical exposure, moisture, high temperatures, and mechanical wear. The job includes surface preparation (sanding, cleaning, degreasing), selecting and mixing paints, and applying coatings manually (brush, roller) or with machines (sprayers, airless systems).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Industrial plants (oil, chemical, energy sectors)
  • Shipyards and metal fabrication facilities
  • Machinery, pipeline, and structural manufacturing
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces or outdoors
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals – mandatory protective equipment
  • Often team-based work, sometimes in shifts
